Another specialty of the Reserve lies in Agroforestry, or what most people refer to as Food Forestry. With a variety of established plots, we utilize the interdisciplinary study of agroecology to properly manage the health and efficiency of our crops without depleting the soils nutrients, which can negatively impact the surrounding rainforest habitat and so many of its residents. In fact, we take it a step further—how can we use our cultivated plots as a way to promote a healthy rainforest ecosystem that attracts wildlife?
